Supposed contradiction and verses:
Is the Earth supported or not?
He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
This is almost surprising to be listed by atheists as a contradiction. Certainly as one looks at the earth, it is not on any kind of a pedestal, there is no hook in the top where it hangs from a nail, or anything like that. So the first verse is no problem. What happenes with the second verse, is that the atheist tries to fool you into thinking something is said, but it is not. The foundations of the Earth are simply rock layers, mountains, the core of the earth, and so forth. Geologists even refer to the layers of the earth as its foundation and atheists donít bash them saying they donít know what they are talking about. Plain and simple here. No contradiction!
