Luck O' the Irish?

Before you don green so you don’t get pinched, did you ever wonder why you have to wear green on Saint Patrick’s Day? It’s coming up on Thursday the 17th. Most people will spend their time drinking green colored beer and alcoholic drinks becoming drunkards and won’t remember the night. Anyway, I wish to point a couple things out to you that some liberal “Christians” will brush off and still say it’s all in fun.

Patrick was a member of the Roman Catholic Church who received missionary orders from Pope St. Celestine I. Legend has it he converted all of Ireland from paganism to Roman Catholicism, but really, there is no difference between the two, one just veils itself as Christians. That is the very first thing that should alarm Christians into not wanting anything to do with that holiday. Without getting too off track, for those of you that maintain that Catholicism is Christian, let me ask you how you can think that when, and this is just two of their catechisms, which they place above Scripture state the following…

"#841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."

The Pope is the replacement (vicar) of Jesus Christ on Earth. (#55&#56)

So, if you believe that Catholics are Christian, then you deny Jesus Christ by saying He is replaceable by a human on earth, as well as He is nothing more than a prophet and not the Saviour because Muslims deny He was even any better than Mohammed!!!

Moving along, the Catholic Encyclopedia as well as the Catholic tradition maintains that Patrick was so inclined that all Ireland become Catholic, he began a very long fast. Each day an angel would come to him and tell him God would grant so many people if he would stop the prolonged fasting. Patrick would send word back to God that he refused! This went on for a very long time, and finally God sent word that not only would he give him all of Ireland, but many souls would be freed from purgatory on his behalf (which purgatory is another lie from Catholicism). To top that off though, he was told by the angel that on the Day of Judgment, Patrick would judge every Irish person ever born! Wow! God had to submit to a human! That’s complete blasphemy!!

The little green shamrock that we call a three leaf clover? Some people have tried their best to say it is an example of the Trinity. The fact is, it is a carry over from the pagans into Catholicism (they had a lot of that) which signified new birth from Mother Earth.  It has NOTHING to do with God. That being said, and all points looked into, a Christian has NO business taking part in Saint Patrick’s Day. If you choose to, well, you won’t be able to say you weren’t warned.

 Ephesians 5:8-11

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

In His Grace,
