Pornography- Adultery/Fornication of the Mind

One of Satanís greatest tricks has been to convince people tat porn is ok. But there are different views on what is considered porn. Some say it is hardcore movies and magazines, and others say it is just viewing the beauty of what God made. I will show you the Bible will tell you that what people view as simple ďnaked sceneĒ in a film, is pornography, and for the Christian it places you into adultery/fornication.

Let us determine the difference between adultery and fornication. Adultery occurs when the male or female in a marriage, since that is the only marriage God condones, lusts for and/or has sexual relations with someone other than their spouse. Fornication is the same act, but by someone who is not yet married. Let us look at what the Bible says about each before moving onÖ

Fornication:

1st Corinthians 6:18-19

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Colossians 3:5-6

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

1st Thessalonians 4:3-4

3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour:

Adultery:

Matthew 5:27-29

27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Both:

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God

Reading these verses, one can see, there is no wiggle room for someone who claims they are a Christian to look at pornography, unless of course, the are lip-service Christians who are not actually saved; yet, even they will be judged by this. I have also heard people say that they do not lust after a person when they see them naked in a movie, internet site, or an e-mail a friend sent. There is no way that you can EVER convince me of that, and for certain when you stand before the Lord you wonít go with that lie. You are only fooling yourself. Have you forgotten that Adam and Eve covered their nakedness in the Garden of Eden when they sinned? Noah cursed his son for seeing him naked and telling his brothers about it. Thereís a reason for this. That is something to be shared by a husband and a wife. Others use the excuse that there are civilizations that live naked, so itís just a thought of mind or your culture. I say, go live in that civilization then. People will go to great lengths to try and justify their sin. Did you see Jesus going around without His clothes on? Donít you think if it were ok, that He would? Jesus has condemned you looking at the nakedness of others in His Word as shown above.

But the lies used as excuses to watch this on TV, movies, to dress scantily and draw attention to your body, etc are all plans of Satan to put a wedge between you and God. There is a great danger in this too. It is just like other small sin that you ďallowĒ in your life and make excuses to have. It snow-balls and you donít even see it. One may start out ďadmiringĒ beauty in a picture. Well, if thatís ok, something a little rougher might be ok. Then something else, then something else. People, this is where sexual predators come from. EVERY time you look at the nakedness of someone else other than your spouse, you are committing adultery! And if you arenít married, then you have NO-ONE that you are biblically allowed to look at in that way.

The final point is the lasting effect of viewing such, or having sex before marriage and outside of marriage. Your sub-conscious stores images like a computer. The problem is, these images are subject to come into your mind at any time. How about when you repent of these actions and change your life? Even then, as you tell your wife you love her, an image will come to mind and you will have no idea how or why it came there, but you know it wasnít your wife. If you donít really love your spouse, that wonít matter, or youíll just chalk it up to being human, making excuses for it like you did to view the images the first time. If you truly love your spouse, it will be devastating each time it happens. Why set yourself up for that? The fact is, most of these images are oriented for men to look at women as sex objects. God never intended for them to be such. Men are the head of the house, but women were created equal to us in Godís eyes, thus why He took the rib from the side, and not a back bone. They are not our slaves to do our will at our pleasure. It is why God described woman as a ďhelp-meetĒ in Genesis.

Titus 1:16

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

You can make excuses in your mind if you want to, but they donít stand a chance with our Saviour and are proven false by the Word of God. The reason you donít see it isnít because itís ok, itís because you have been given over to a reprobate mind.

Romans 1:28-32

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
