Questions for My Jehovah's
Witness Friends
John 1:18 are there many gods?
Do you believe in many gods?
John 1:18 says:
"No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom
[position] with the Father is the one that has explained him. "
First of all, it says only begotten god, and the Greek does NOT support the
little "g" no matter what the KIT says. Next, it says he is in position with
Him. Not near, not somewhat, but IN position, meaning of the same level. This
verse shows Jesus is part of YHWH, the living God.
In light of the inspired scripture of the Bible, versus the uninspired
Watchtower, whom will you believe.
Please explain you views of many gods if you choose to believe the Watchtower.
Is an organization really needed for salvation?
Jehovah's Witnesses use Acts
8:30 & 31 as proof that an organization is needed to interpret the Bible for us
in order for us to understand it.
Acts 8:30, 31 "Then Philip ran up to the chariot and
heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. 'Do you understand what you are
reading?' Philip asked. 'How can I,' he said, 'unless someone explains it to
me?' So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him."
If this verse means we need an organization to interpret the Bible for us, why
did Philip disappear after the Eunuch was baptized never to be seen again by the
eunuch? Did Philip use writings from an organization to lead the Eunuch to
Christ, or scripture?
Phillip preached from Scripture, not from literature designed by an
organization. The eunuch didn't have to join an organization or submit to an
organizations teachings. He never saw his teacher again and "went on his way
rejoicing". If Scripture alone was sufficient for Philip and the eunuch, isn't
Scripture alone sufficient?
JW's is the Watchtower truly needed?
2
Timothy 3:15-17 "and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which
are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All
Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and
training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for
every good work."
In light of this verse, how can the Watchtower teach that a person cannot become
equipped by reading the Bible alone, but must read Watchtower literature?
How did people understand the Bible for the nineteen centuries prior to the
existence of the Watchtower Society? What kind of God would give His people His
Word with no means of understanding it until centuries later?
Scripture is sufficient because it finds it's source in God (verse 16).
Watchtower literature finds its source in sinful humanity.
If the Scriptures alone were sufficient for Timothy, then aren't the Scriptures
alone sufficient for us?
Are we NOT to interpret scripture?
Since Jehovah's Witnesses
believe 2 Peter 1:20, 21 tells us we are not to privately interpret scripture,
how do you explain Acts 17:11 which commends the Berean Christians for testing
Paul's teachings to make sure that what he said was in accord with Scriptures?
2 Peter 1:20, 21 is not instructing us not to read and interpret Scripture. The
Greek word for interpretation here literally means "unloosing". This verse is
telling us that Scripture is is not a result of any prophet's "unloosing", but
is a result of the Holy Spirit "carrying them along". We're being told the
SOURCE of scripture here, not that we shouldn't interpret it.
Paul tells us that Christians are to test everything (1 Thessalonians 5:21). The
Bereans were of more noble character for doing exactly this. Even the teaching
of the Apostles were compared to Scripture as the test for truth. God obviously
expected us to be able to read and understand His Word. Why do you feel it has
to be the Watchtower?
Does unity prove the Watchtower and you?
I
Corinthians 1:10
"I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of
you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you."
The Watchtower Society teaches that this verse proves Jehovah's Witnesses are
the only true Christians because they are in complete agreement with the
Watchtower and are united in the same mind and thought. How do you explain Paul
calling the Corinthians Christians in the same letter where he pointed out they
were lacking in unity?
When Paul wrote this letter to the Corinthians, they were already lacking in
unity (1 Cor. 6:13; 8:10; 10:25; 11:2-16; 14; 15). However, Paul clearly
believed they were Christians. 1 Corinthians 1:2 "To those sanctified in Christ
Jesus and those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ - their
Lord and ours." A lack of unity obviously did not mean that the Corinthians were
not Christian. Also, where in this verse does the apostle Paul suggest that
Christians are to render unquestioning obedience to an organization? It does not
say anywhere in 1 Corinthians that unity is to be achieved by submission to an
organization.
Is God's name Jehovah?
Since the Jehovah's Witnesses
claim that God must always be referred to as Jehovah and the fact that others
don't do this proves Jehovah's Witnesses are the only true church, why is God
not always identified as Jehovah in the Bible? Why did Jesus not address the
Father as Jehovah?
the word Jehovah came about because the ancient Jews had a superstitious dread
of pronouncing the name YHWH for fear they would violate the commandment not to
take God's name in vain. To avoid the possibility of breaking this commandment,
the Jews substituted the name "Adonai" (Lord) or some other name in its place
when ever they read it in Scripture. Eventually the scribes inserted the vowels
from Adonai within the consonants YHWH and the result was Yahowah, or Jehovah.
Jehovah was a man-made term.
If the Watchtower Society is correct that God must always be referred to as
Jehovah, then Jesus was way out of line. Jesus began many prayers with, Our
Father. We are told as Christians to cry out to our God as "Abba, Father"
(Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6). According to the Greek manuscripts the word
Jehovah does not occur a single time in the New Testament.
Is Jesus deity?
Colossians 2:9 says "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily
form". This would pose a problem for the Jehovah's Witnesses, who
believe Jesus is not God, so they retranslate the verse to say "Because it is in
him that all the fullness of the divine quality dwells bodily". Greek scholars
are unanimous that Colossians 2:9 points to the absolute deity of Jesus Christ.
Can Jehovah's witnesses name a single Greek scholar on par with J.H. Thayer who
agrees with the Watchtower rendering of this verse?
Even some Watchtower literature supports the correct view of the Deity of
Christ. The Bible in Living English, translated by Steven T. Byington, was
published by the Watchtower Society in 1972, and it renders this verse, "In him
all the fullness of deity is resident in bodily form." The Watchtower editors
must have missed this! J.H. Thayer, whose Greek lexicon is called
"comprehensive" by the Watchtower Society, says the Greek word in Colossians 2:9
refers to "deity, that is, the state of being God, Godhead." Greek scholar
Richard C. Trench says that "St. Paul is declaring that in the Son there dwells
all the fullness of absolute Godhead. He was, and is, absolute and perfect God."
Greek scholar John A. Bengel states that the Greek word refers "not merely to
the Divine attributes, but to the Divine nature itself". There are many more
scholars I could site, but these are enough to demonstrate scholarly opinion.
Was it God's blood that saves us?
Acts
20:28 reads "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the
Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He
purchased with His own blood".
Why does the Watchtower Society insert the word Son into Acts 20:28? The New
World Translation renders this verse "Pay attention to yourselves and to all the
flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed you overseers, to shepherd the
congregation of God, which is purchased with the blood of his own [Son]".
The New World Translation reinterprets this to make it appear that the church
was purchased not by God's blood but by Jesus'. The reason not a single standard
translation renders the text this way is because there is not a single Greek
manuscript that contains the word "Son" in this verse. The Watchtower society
has absolutely no reason other than deception to insert the word Son in this
verse. As for Jesus being God, we also have Romans9:5, Col.2:9, and Titus2:13.
Is the NWT trustworthy?
What does it say about the
Watchtower Society when, for over twenty years, it knowingly cited an occultic
spiritist in support of its rendering of John 1:1?
The New World Translation mistranslates John 1:1 to say that Jesus was a god
instead of the God. To support the New World Translation, the Watchtower cites
Johannes Greber as supporting the translation. Indeed Johannes Greber did
support it, but he is also an occult spiritist who authored a book entitled
"Communication with the Spirit World of God". Greber claims that spirits helped
him in his translation of the New Testament. The Watchtower now claims that they
didn't know Greber was a spiritist, however their own magazine refutes this. In
1956 an issue of The Watchtower magazine printed nearly a full page on Greber
and his spiritism. Yet, the Society continued to cite him as an authority in
support of its translation of John 1:1 after 1980.
1Tim 3:16. God was manifest in flesh?
"15 but
in case I am delayed, that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in
God’s household, which is the congregation of [the] living God, a pillar and
support of the truth.
16 Indeed, the sacred secret of this godly devotion is admittedly great: ‘He was
made manifest in flesh, was declared righteous in spirit, appeared to angels,
was preached about among nations, was believed upon in [the] world, was received
up in glory.’ "
Now the subject started in verse 15, which is God. That same line of thought
continues in verse 16, it never changed. Other translations say "God" was
manifest in flesh, but i think we know why the Watchtower tries to hide that
with the word He. However, being that the subject was started in verse 15, and
you have to understand thatthe Greek manuscripts are not chopped up in verses,
the subject remain God in this verse. Clearly showing God became flesh which is
who? Jesus Christ.
Will you believe the inspired Bible or the uninspired Watchtower?
Is it okay to have new light and change doctrine?
Remember how you and the
Watchtower defend the false prophecies of Armageddon. Here is a WT quote...
""It is a serious matter to represent God and Christ in one way, then find that
our understanding of the major teachings and fundamental doctrines of the
Scriptures was in error, and then after that, to go back to the very doctrines
that, by years of study, we had thoroughly determined to be in error. Christians
cannot be vacillating - 'wishy washy' - about such fundamental teachings. What
confidence can one put in the sincerity or judgment of such persons?" {WT May 15
1976 298}"
This WT was written just after the failed 1975 prophesy of Armageddon.
My question is who are the "wishy washy" people this article is talking about?
Who represents God and Jesus and distributes "meat in due season" is it not the
Faithful & Discreet Slave?
Do you realize, the Watchtower ended up talking about itself in this statement?
Is the WT Jehovah's Wife and Christ's Mother?
Watchtower of May 1, 1957, page
275:
"In this way Paul identifies Jehovah's wife as His invisible universal
organization, the mother of Christ and of his joint heirs"
They entitled their article "Show Respect for Jehovah's Organization". The lead
scripture was Proverbs 6, 20:23 (RS).
"My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake
not your mother's teaching. For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a
light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life".
The article stated, "If we are to walk in the light of truth we must recognize
not only Jehovah' God as our Father but his organization as our mother". They
then went on to apply the fifth commandment to themselves! "Honor your father
and your mother.." as being Jehovah God and the Watchtower organization!
They end saying, "Today, also, God requires and exacts from his children
obedience, honor and respect. These must be rendered not only to the living God
himself, but to his wifely organization as well."
Under the subheading,
"Identifying the Mother Organization". To my surprise, they begin by saying,
"The real mother of Christians is not and can not be an earthly organization".
They quoted Galations 4:26, "The Jerusalem above is
free, and she is our mother". Jumping to Isaiah 54:5,6, (and using
their ever-present dots to remove the parts that don't fit,) they said:
"Thy Maker is thy husband; Jehovah of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of
Israel is thy Redeemer;....For Jehovah hath called thee as a wife forsaken and
grieved in spirit." In this way Paul identifies Jehovah's wife as His invisible
universal organization, the mother of Christ and of his joint heirs".
They got all that from Isaiah's words to the literal nation of Israel! Somehow
they blame Paul for inventing their doctrine!
Nevertheless, they state their
doctrine, that Jehovah's wife is their "invisible universal organization, the
mother of Christ and of his joint heirs". So they do, indeed claim, to be "the
mother of Christ". Shocking!
They then go into a spiel I have never heard them use much, the birth of a
"man-child kingdom". Briefly, they explain, their organization consists of
Jehovah's heavenly "wife" who became "mother", first to Jesus Christ (a created
being in their theology--an archangel named Michael), and also mother to the
144,000 spiritual elites. So, their 144,000 consists of those Jehovah's
Witnesses with a heavenly hope to rule and reign with Christ, some of whom have
died and gone on to their reward, and some of whom remain on earth (the
remnant). The "remnant" runs the Watchtower Organization. Unbelievably,
"Invisible holy angelic spirit creatures" are added to the 144,000 and Jesus
Christ to make up this "universal organization of God, his wife."
Trouble is, they also consider
themselves to be the children, the offspring, of Jehovah and his wife, while at
the same time being Jehovah's wife!! Hard to believe, isn't it? Enter the term,
"man-child government" to cover this impossibility of thinking. Poor Isaiah gets
misquoted to cover this ludicrous idea. Even more incredulous, followers are
told that they should be "appreciating the light" and given the reminder, "
Whether we shall become "sheep" or "goats" is determined by our own course of
action towards Jehovah's organization". In other words, believe this nonsense or
die!
Truly, the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses, no matter how duped in other ways,
cannot really believe that Jehovah's wife includes the 144,000, who are also
children of this same wife!! It's a perversion of what is natural, a breaking of
all God's laws on marriage.
The whole concept is in violation of God's plain statements on the sanctity of
marriage.
The WT maintains Jesus is not God because God
cannot die right?
Jesus' body of flesh died and
was in the tomb for 3 days. In 3 days His body rose and He appeared to many.
Jesus' spirit was not out of existence when His body was in the tomb. Look at
what He did;
1 Peter 3:18-20
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He
might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in
the spirit; in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in
prison, who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the
days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight
persons, were brought safely through the water.
Notice that it says He was made alive in the spirit! The WT teaches soul sleep
until Christ's return, so this is evident Jesus is not held to the same
constraints as humans yet you do.
He was WRAPPED in flesh. Is it truly so hard for you to understand that the
fleshly body of Jesus died, but He did not?
Who is Your Mediator?
“Worldwide Security Under the
Prince of Peace” page 10:
“Jesus Christ is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the
Mediator between his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spiritual
Israel which is limited to only 144,000 members.”
As a Jehovah's Witness, you do not qualify to have Jesus for your mediator
unless you belong to the small, elite group of the remnant of the 144K (which
would be less than 9000 today). That means you are stuck with the boys in
Brooklyn, who are dying off, as YOUR mediator.
They are already preparing the faithful to accept members of the earthly “other
sheep” in positions once reserved for the elite. When they are all dead, you
will have no Mediator!
Why not give your heart directly to Jesus since the organization cannot save
you?
Is Jesus the Almighty?
If not, then why did the
Watchtower teach it in Finished Mystery p. 15?
JW's, has the Watchtower had failed prophecies?
One of the WTBTS biggest claims
now to cover up is that it is not, nor has ever claimed that the JW organization
is a prophet...
"IDENTIFYING THE PROPHET" WT. 4/1/72 p 197
"These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?
This prophet was not one man, but a body of men and women. It was the small
group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International
Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses.
Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a "prophet" of God. It is
another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the
record. What does it show? WT. 4/1/72 p 197
In light of that and what Duet. 18:21-22 says about prophets, look at the record
and answer me, can you honestly say the JW Organization is not a false prophet?

which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming
deluge." WT 4 / 1 /23 p. 106.
1931 There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful
ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment
lasted for a time. Later the faithful learned that these dates were definitely
fixed in the Scriptures; and they also learned to quit fixing dates for the
future and predicting what would come to pass on a certain date," Vindication

1968 "True there have been those
in times past who predicted an "end" to the world, even announcing a specific
date. Yet nothing happened. The "end" did not come. They were guilty of false
prophesying. Why? What was missing? Missing from such people were God's truths
and the evidence that he was using them... But what about today? Today we have
the evidence required, all of it." Awake 10 / 8 / 68 p.23
1968 "Why Are You Looking Forward To 1975?" WT 8 /15 /68 p. 494
The WT once taught that 6000 years of Human History ended in 1872. Check their
book "Daily Heavenly Manna" This was wrong.
Then they said that 6000 years of Human History ended in 1873. This was wrong.
WT book "The Time Is At Hand" p.33
Jehovah's Witnesses were also taught that 6000 years of Human History ended in
1972. WT book "The Truth Shall Make You Free". p. 152, 1943 ed. This was not
correct.
Now Jehovah's Witnesses are told
that 6000 years of Human History ended in 1975. Awake Oct. 8, 1968
Watch Tower readers were told the "The Time Of The End" began in 1799. WT book
"The Kingdom Come" p. 129, 1914 ed. This was an error.
The WT taught that the Millennium began in 1874. Today they teach that it did
not begin in 1874. The Finished Mystery. p.386.
They once taught that Abraham would come out of his grave in 1925, 1925 and live
in San Diego, California. This was a false prophecy. "Millions Now Living Will
Never Die." p.89 & 90 and "Salvation" pgs. 310 - 312.
They have claimed that the dates in their publications are "God's Dates". WT
Reprints II, p 1677, Jan. 1, 1894
Did you realize you are apostates?
So you also must be ready,
because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. "Who
then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the
servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be
good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. I tell
you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But suppose
that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long
time,' and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with
drunkards. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect
him and at an hour he is not aware of. Matthew 24:44-50, NIV
The WT says they were in Bablyonish captivity in 1914 so how could they be doing
his will if he returned that year? In 1914 that WT taught that Jesus returned
invisibly in 1874 so, if he came in 1914, it was on a day they did not expect
him and at an hour he is not aware of.
(Watchtower, April 1, 1986 pp.
30-31 - Questions From Readers)
"Do we have Scriptural precedent for taking such a strict position? Indeed we
do! Paul wrote about some in his day: "Their word will spread like gangrene.
Hymenaeus and Philetus are of that number. These very men have deviated from the
truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred; and they are
subverting the faith of some." (2 Timothy 2:17, 18; see also Matthew 18:6.)
There is nothing to indicate that these men did not believe in God, in the
Bible, in Jesus' sacrifice. Yet, on this one basic point, what they were
teaching as to the time of the resurrection, Paul rightly branded them as
apostates, with whom faithful Christians would not fellowship."
Russell taught that the
resurrection occurred in 1878 and the WT has inadvertently branded him as an
apostate. In 1914, when the WT says Jesus appointed them as the FDS, they were
teaching that the resurrection happened in 1878 and not 1918. They have labeled
themselves as apostates at the very time they say that Jesus chose them out of
all the world's religions!
A question on Jesus' resurrection...?
If the resurrection wasn't
physical.... how did Jesus conquer death?
If what died was not raised, then the resurrection is a lie and we are without
hope according to scripture.
1 Corinthians
15:12-21
12Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you
that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also
vain.
15Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God
that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise
not.
16For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that
slept.
21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
If Jesus Christ's resurrection wasn't physical,
how did Jesus conquer death?
If what died was not raised,
then the resurrection is a lie and we are without hope according to scripture
You misunderstand scripture when you say...
1 Corinthians 15:50
50Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of
God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
The difference in Jesus was that all his blood was poured out on the cross and
at the end water poured out. His body was raised in a glorified state and was
flesh and BONE. Notice where He states.....
Luke 24:39
39Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a
spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
Some then try to justify with
1Peter 3:18
18For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he
might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the
Spirit.
However, because Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:1,14), His spirit is
immortal and does not need to be made alive.
Did you know this about 1st Peter?
As a rule, the New World
Translation always renders "Kurios" in the Greek New Testament as "Jehovah" when
it refers to the Father, but "Lord" when it refers to Jesus Christ. Wherever the
New Testament quotes the Old Testament, the New World translators could tell
whether to use "Lord" or "Jehovah" by noticing if the Hebrew word which the New
Testament quoted was "Jehovah."
In I Peter 2:3, however, they faced a real problem. The passage quotes Psalm
34:8: "Taste and see that Jehovah is good..." (New World Translation). In I
Peter 2:3, they translated: "Provided you have tasted that the Lord is kind."
Why did they not follow their rule and translate, "Jehovah is kind?" Read on in
I Peter and you will find that the passage is referring to Christ. To hide the
fact that Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Lord Jesus Christ, the New World
Translation broke its rule and used "Lord" in I Peter to translate "Jehovah" in
the Old Testament passage.
Will you run from the WT false teachings?
Is Jesus kurios?
Look at The Kingdom Interlinear
(p. 723) for Romans 10:11, kurios is translated Lord, but in verse 13 the same
word, kurios (which here clearly refers to Jesus), is now translated "Jehovah"
rather than "Lord" or "Jesus." In both places the term Lord refers to Jesus and
connotes His deity but the New World Translation hides this by the translation
of "Lord" in verse 11 and "Jehovah" in verse 13 implying the entire section
refers to Jehovah—but not to Jesus. Likewise, Philippians 2:10-11 clearly refers
to Jesus and is based on Isaiah 45:22-25, referring to Jehovah (see Rom.
14:9-11). Yet if kurios were translated Jehovah in Philippians 2 it would mean
Jesus is identified with Jehovah, and the Watchtower Society could not permit
such a translation. Hence, kurios is here translated "Lord." Thus, it is only
where kurios can be translated Jesus and not simultaneously imply His deity,
that it is so translated.
Will you run away from the false Jesus the Watchtower teaches?
JW's have you read Zechariah?
Look in Chapter 14 which is a
prophecy of the end of the world. As pointed out in revelation, Jesus is the one
coming, and Zechariah knew this. As a true prophet of God, look how many times,
just in this one Chapter that Jesus is referred to as Jehovah! For instance,
verse 9 reads...
"And Jehovah must become king over all the earth. In
that day Jehovah will prove to be one, and his name one."
We all know that Jesus becomes king of all and all knees will bow to Him.
Will you run from the Watchtower as they preach the wrong Jesus?
Galatians 1:8-9 (NWT)
However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good
news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let him be accursed.
As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to
YOU as good news something beyond what YOU accepted, let him be accursed.
Did you read this in Zechariah?
Zech
2:10-11 from NWT
10 "Cry out loudly and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for here I am coming, and I
will reside in the midst of you," is the utterance of Jehovah. 11 "And many
nations will certainly become joined to Jehovah in that day, and they will
actually become my people; and I will reside in the midst of you." And you will
have to know that Jehovah of armies himself has sent me to you.
Here are 4 questions, all with the same answer...
Who said daughter of Zion rejoice for I am coming?
Who said when He is in their midst, they will know that Jehovah of armies
Himself has sent me to you?
Who was speaking from verse 10 to 11?
Who is the sender here?
The answer in each case is Jesus. Will you run from the false Jesus of the
Watchtower?
Do you worship Jesus?
The NWT changes the greek word
to obesiance in every instance to Jesus due to its agenda against Him. The WT
says that "obeisance" is just respect. If “obesiance” is just respect, why did
Peter reject it in Acts 10:25-26?
Acts 10:25-26 NWT reads: As Peter entered, Cornelius
met him, fell down at his feet and did obeisance to him. But Peter lifted him
up, saying: “Rise; I myself am also a man.”
It is because it should be rendered worship, just as it should have been to
Jesus since He is God in the flesh. Will you run from the false teachings of the
Watchtower?
Have you checked the manuscripts?
Titus
2:13 (KJV)
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and
our Saviour Jesus Christ
Titus 2:13 (NWT)
while we wait for the happy hope and glorious manifestation of the great God and
of [the] Savior of us, Christ Jesus
A true, non-biased watchtower regurgitated answer will have you find that the
correct rendering is that in the KJV, the Greek manuscripts AND interlinears
will show this.
The word "our" as seen in the KJV is from the word hJmw'n which is ALWAYS
genitive case plural and rendered as our, us, or we. Clearly, the NWT failed
this translation with their agenda against Jesus and inserted "of the" which it
has no grammatical right to do so.
Odd thing though is, even in their rendition of the verse, it STILL points to
Jesus being God and Savior. God here is translated from qeovß which is the same
Greek word the watchtower translates everywhere else as Jehovah!!
What will you do with truth now? To those who appeal to 1 Corinthians 11:3 and
the word head....head means authority. So? Why would someone think this is a
problem for the Trinity? Jesus was fully man and fully God. As a man, He showed
us the way and relied on His human nature instead of Divine. If at anytime He
had not, that would demean His purpose. This simply means that as a man, He
subjected Himself to God, just as we are, even though He was God in the flesh.
This holds true for any of the many other Watchtower arguments such as were He
prayed to the Father, said the Father was greater than He, and so forth. Jesus
was as a man on Earth while the Father was still in glory in Heaven, that is why
He said those things.
Can you really say Jesus is created?
The old argument is, what son
does not have a beginning?
Okay, then what father was not once a son? If you make Jesus not eternal as is
the Father, the the father too has a beginning and you have corrupted God with
your doctrine!!!
Malachi 3 tells us that God does not change. If Jesus was not eternal with no
beginning, then that means at some point God had to change to become a father.
You again make God a liar. False doctrine of the Watchtower, don't you see it?
Is the Wt guilty of doublespeak?
Doublespeak, noun - evasive,
ambiguous, or contradictory language that is intended to deceive or confuse.
Examples:
One CANNOT turn to an organization for salvation:
*** w90 11/1 p. 26 ***
16 As Christians, we face up to similar challenges today. We cannot take part in
any modern version of idolatry—be it worshipful gestures toward an image or
symbol or the imputing of salvation to a person or an organization.
*** w67 8/15 p. 494 ***
No man, regardless of how prominent he may be and with what power he may be
invested, religious or political, no nation of this world and no international
organization can provide true security and salvation for mankind. These
precious, sought-after goals can derive only from one source, namely, God the
Almighty, whose name is Jehovah, and only in harmony with the provisions he has
made
*** w00 1/1 p. 30 We Need Jehovah’s Organization ***
*** w00 1/1 p. 30 We Need
Jehovah’s Organization ***
At Pentecost 33 C.E., Jehovah poured out his holy spirit, not upon a few
isolated believers, but upon a group of men and women who came together “at the
same place,” namely, in an upper room in the city of Jerusalem. (Acts 2:1) At
that time, the Christian congregation, which became an international
organization, was formed.
*** w84 11/1 pp. 17-18 Direct
New Ones to God’s Organization ***
As soon as possible, invite fellow members of the congregation to accompany you
to the study so that the student starts to make new friends as quickly as
possible. It is important that he realizes soon that whatever he loses in the
way of friendship in the old system of things will be more than made up for in
new acquaintances in ‘the entire association of brothers in the world.’ (1 Peter
5:9; Matthew 19:27-29) Make full use of the brochure Jehovah’s Witnesses in the
Twentieth Century. This describes the modern international organization of
Jehovah’s Witnesses and has some fine illustrations of a large convention, a
typical Kingdom Hall, a meeting in progress, the preaching work, and so forth.
One CAN turn to an
organization for salvation:
*** w93 9/15 p. 22 ***
Because they have not been given privileges of service for which they feel
qualified, others have allowed resentment to create a rift between them and the
congregation. But if we were to draw away from Jehovah’s organization, there
would be no place else to go for salvation and true joy.
*** w85 3/1 p. 22 ***
21 Therefore, let all of us share in beaming forth the light of the Kingdom good
news to millions more! Let us point all homing “doves” to the way of “salvation”
behind the protective walls of Jehovah’s organization and increase “praise” to
him at its gates. Let it be our prayer that the Sovereign Lord Jehovah and the
head of the Christian congregation, our beloved King Jesus Christ, will continue
to “speed it up” as the Kingdom proclamation moves on toward its climax!
*** w81 11/15 p. 21 ***
No doubt, before the “great tribulation” is finished, we will see the greatest
witness to God’s name and kingdom in the history of this world. And while now
the witness yet includes the invitation to come to Jehovah’s organization for
salvation, the time no doubt will come when the message takes on a harder tone,
like a “great war cry.”
*** w67 8/15 p. 499 ***
4 The unintentional manslayer in Israel did not flee abroad, leaving his
country, but headed for the city of refuge, which belonged to the nonpriestly
Levites; the city of Hebron belonged to the Aaronic priests. This signifies that
the provision of salvation is closely connected with Jehovah’s organization. A
remnant of the spiritual priestly class is still on earth today, forming the
nucleus of the congregation of Jehovah’s people. We cannot ignore the role the
visible congregation of Jehovah’s witnesses plays in this provision of
salvation.
*** w67 8/15 p. 503 ***
If we want to assure our everlasting salvation, we must stay within the bounds
of Jehovah God’s loving provision associated with his visible organization,
presided over by his High Priest. Let us not be tempted to forsake the shielding
and powerful city of refuge in order to enjoy for a short time a deceptive
freedom that exposes us to everlasting death.
Are you conscious after death?
The WT teaches there is no
consciousness after you die. How could the "spirits in prison", who lived during
“Noah’s days”, be preached to by Christ after His death (1Pet 3:18-20)? Also,
could the good news be "declared also to the dead" (1 Pet 4:5-6)?
If the “spirits in prison” of 1Pet 3:19 refers to demonic angels, instead of the
just people who died before the resurrection of Christ, then why would Jesus
“preach” to demonic angels?
The WT is lying to you, will you run to the true Gospel?
Does new light requalify people?
Since the WTS has received "new
light" regarding the 1914 generation, and completely changed their views on
this, does this mean that all the former Witnesses who were disfellowshipped
years ago for the same view the organization is now teaching will automatically
be accepted back into fellowship again? Were these ex-Witnesses in fact
disfellowshipped for what is now taught as "the Truth"?
Does it not bother you that what you are taught now could be changed years later
due to "new light", and if you are dead, you can't change anything?
When did Jesus become the Christ?
If Jesus did not become the
Christ until he was baptized approximately 30 years after his birth, why does Lk
2:11 say, “because there was born to you today a
Savior, who IS Christ [the] Lord, in David’s city.”? What does the
word “is” mean to you?

Have you
studied Romans 13:1-7 versus WTS teaching?
1 Let
every soul be in subjection to the superior
authorities, for there is no authority except by
God; the existing authorities stand placed in their
relative positions by God
2 Therefore he who opposes the
authority has taken a stand against the arrangement
of God; those who have taken a stand against it will
receive judgment to themselves.
3 For those ruling are an object
of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad. Do
you, then, want to have no fear of the authority?
Keep doing good, and you will have praise from it;
4 for it is God’s minister to you
for your good. But if you are doing what is bad, be
in fear: for it is not without purpose that it bears
the sword; for it is God’s minister, an avenger to
express wrath upon the one practicing what is bad.
5 There is therefore compelling
reason for YOU people to be in subjection, not only
on account of that wrath but also on account of
[YOUR] conscience.
6 For that is why YOU are also
paying taxes; for they are God’s public servants
constantly serving this very purpose.
7 Render to all their dues, to him
who [calls for] the tax, the tax; to him who [calls
for] the tribute, the tribute; to him who [calls
for] fear, such fear; to him who [calls for] honor,
such honor.
Three times Paul says that all human
governments exist because God put them in power. He
said it in three different ways in Greek, to drive
the point home:
1) Governing authorities are υπο θεου, "from God"
(verse 1)
2) Governing authorities are υπο θεου τεταγμεναι,
"established by God" (verse 1, τεταγμεναι is the
perfect passive participle form of τασσω)
3) Governing authorities are τη του θεου διαταγη,
"the ordinance of God" (verse 2, διαταγη is a noun
derived from διατασσω
Three times Paul says that all human governments are
God's minister, God's servant -- governments work
directly for God. He used two different nouns for
this in Greek, to drive the point home:
1) διακονος "minister" (singular, twice in verse 4)
2) λειτουργοι "servants" (plural of λειτουργος,
verse 6)
Here are my questions.
1) What exactly does Paul mean by saying three times
in three different ways that all human governments
are set up, established, put into place, by God?
2) How can this be reconciled with the Watchtower
Society's dogma that all human governments have
their origin in man's rebellion against God's
sovereignty starting back in Eden?
3) What exactly does Paul mean by saying three times
in two different ways that all human governments are
God's minister, are God's servants, that they all
work for God?
4) How can this be reconciled with the Watchtower
Society's dogma that all human governments are under
Satan's control, and thus work for Satan, not for
God?

Does Jehovah approve Spiritualism?
1919 was the year that the WT
became the faithful and wise servant. So did the men in the WT who marketed and
promoted the book "Angels and Women" (1924 Golden Age) who were suppose to be of
the anointed class go to heaven marketing a book on spiritualism? Including all
the governing body members? Does Jehovah approve of spiritualism?

Review of Book
"ANGELS AND WOMEN" is the title of a book just off the press. It is a
reproduction and revision off [sic] the novel, "Seola" which was written in
1878, and which deals with conditions prior to the flood.
Pastor Russell read this book with keen interest, and requested some of his
friends to read it because of its striking harmony with the Scriptural account
of the sons of God described in the sixth chapter of Genesis. Those sons of God
became evil, and debauched the human family prior to, and up to, the time of the
great deluge. We call attention to this book because we believe it will be of
interest to Bible Students, who are familiar with the machinations of the devil
and the demons and with the influence exercised by them prior to the flood and
also now in this evil day. The book throws light on the subject and it is
believed, will aid those who carefully consider it to avoid the baneful effects
of spiritism, now so prevalent in the world.
The book is revised and published by a personal friend of Pastor Russell, and
one who was close to him in his work. It is published by the A. B. Abac Company,
New York city.
The publishers advise that the regular price of this book is $2.00; but to all
subscribers of THE GOLDEN AGE, it will be furnished at $1.00 per volume, when
ordered in lots of ten or more. This is not an advertisement, but a voluntary
comment. ***

Angels and Women
WE PRESENT some letters regarding this book (a review of which recently appeared
in our columns) which we feel sure will be of interest to many of our readers:
TO THE GOLDEN AGE:
Pardon me for taking this much of your time on what may be so simple a matter;
but I was approached about going into a club to get a certain book called,
"Angels and Women". I made some inquiries, and was told that it was a book that
a fallen angel dictated to a woman, showing a desire to come back into harmony
with God; and that Pastor Russell approved of the book. I had never heard of the
book before; and as we are to shun anything akin to spiritism I should like to
know positively whether the book has your approval before buying one; so if it
is not asking too much would like a reply.
(Mrs.) W.S.Davis, Los Angeles, Cal.
To THE GOLDEN AGE:
With much pleasure and profit has the book, "Angels and Women" been read by many
Truth friends. It contains so much to encourage one to loyalty and faith in God.
Do you think that it would be a real service to purchase these books in
quantities of ten or more copies at a time so as to get the special $1 per copy
rate, which you have so kindly secured for us, and thus to have them on hand as
Christmas and birthday presents or for other gift occasions to give to our
relatives and friends, whom we may have been unable to otherwise interest in
Present Truth or only slightly so?
Would not some be disposed to read a fascinating novel of this kind, who might
not be able to get first interested in "The Harp" or STUDIES?
Would this not be considered one way of instructing the people about matters
concerning which there is so much ignorance, and direct them to the real Bible
Keys, the WATCH TOWER publications?
Should we send such orders to THE GOLDEN AGE?
If not, will you kindly give us the complete address of the A. B. Abac Company?
There are many who would like to get a little more information regarding these
items.
An Appreciative Reader
Reply
TO BOTH above letters we reply as follows:
When Pastor Russell was here, he read a book dealing with conditions that
obtained prior to the Flood. He requested some other brethren to read it. It was
so much in harmony with the Bible account of the fallen angels that he regarded
the book as remarkable. Under his supervision it was revised, and later
published by one who was formerly his confidential associate. The new book is
published under the title "Angels and Women". Scriptural citations are given. An
appendix is added. Pastor Russell remarked that at some opportune time the book,
revised, should be published.
As to its being a violation of the Vow to read this book, such idea is not
worthy of consideration. It would be no more wrong to read it than to read "What
Say the Scriptures about Spiritism" or "Talking with the Dead"; for both these
books quote much as to what the evil spirits do. Many have derived much benefit
from reading "Angels and Women" because it aids in getting a clearer vision of
how Satan overreached the angels and overreached the human race, and caused all
the havoc amongst men and the angels. It helps one to better understanding of
the devil's organization.
The book is published by the A. B. Abac Company, Madison Square, P.O.Box 101,
New York City, N.Y.
THE GOLDEN AGE does not handle the publication; but all who desire it should
write directly to the publisher at the above address. ***
Again, why is this book even mentioned in the pages of the WT?? And why would
the New World Translation Committee use a known spiritualist to help them with
the NWT? Does Jehovah approve of this and did those people go to heaven?

Watchtower 1955 October 1 p.603 Part 3: What Do the
Scriptures Say About "Survival After Death"?
It comes as no surprise that one Johannes Greber, a former Catholic clergyman,
has become a spiritualist and has published the book entitled "Communication
with the Spirit World, Its laws and Its Purpose." (1932, Macoy Publishing
Company, New York) In its Foreword he makes the typical misstatement: "The most
significant spiritualistic book is the Bible; for its principal contents hinge
upon the messages of the beyond to those existing in the present. ***
***Quote:
Watchtower 1956 February 15 pp.110-1 Triumphing over
Wicked Spirit Forces
10 Says Johannes Greber in the introduction of his translation of The New
Testament, copyrighted in 1937: "I myself was a Catholic priest, and until I was
forty-eight years old had never as much as believed in the possibility of
communicating with the world of God's spirits. The day came, however, when I
involuntarily took my first step toward such communication, and experienced
things that shook me to the depths of my soul. . . . My experiences are related
in a book that has appeared in both German and English and bears the title,
Communication with the Spirit-World: Its Laws and Its Purpose." (Page 15, ¶ 2,
3) In keeping with his Roman Catholic extraction Greber's translation is bound
with a gold-leaf cross on its stiff front cover. In the Foreword of his
aforementioned book ex-priest Greber says: "The most significant spiritualistic
book is the Bible." Under this impression Greber endeavors to make his New
Testament translation read very spiritualistic.
11 Spiritualism claims that there are good spirits and bad spirits and that it
does not want to have anything to do with the bad spirits but tries to
communicate only with the good spirits. At 1 John 4:1-3 the Bible says:
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:
because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the
Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the
flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come
in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye
have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
Greber's translation of these verses reads: "My dear friends, do not believe
every spirit, but test the spirits to learn whether they come from God. For many
false spirits have emerged from the abyss and gone out into the world, and are
speaking through human mediums. This is how you can find out whether a spirit
comes from God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ appeared on earth
as a man, comes from God. While every spirit who seeks to destroy belief in
Jesus as our Lord incarnated does not come from God, but is sent by the
adversary of Christ. You have been told that such spirits would come, and they
are already appearing in the world." Very plainly the spirits in which ex-priest
Greber believes helped him in his translation. ***

Questions From Readers
• Why, in recent years, has The Watchtower not made use of the translation by
the former Catholic priest, Johannes Greber?
This translation was used occasionally in support of renderings of Matthew
27:52, 53 and John 1:1, as given in the New World Translation and other
authoritative Bible versions. But as indicated in a foreword to the 1980 edition
of The New Testament by Johannes Greber, this translator relied on "God's Spirit
World" to clarify for him how he should translate difficult passages. It is
stated: "His wife, a medium of God's Spiritworld was often instrumental in
conveying the correct answers from God's Messengers to Pastor Greber." The
Watchtower has deemed it improper to make use of a translation that has such a
close rapport with spiritism. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) The scholarship that forms
the basis for the rendering of the above-cited texts in the New World
Translation is sound and for this reason does not depend at all on Greber's
translation for authority. Nothing is lost, therefore, by ceasing to use his New
Testament. ***
What's really shameful is that the WT tried to lie about just finding out about
Greber being a spirit medium in 1983. When they've know since 1955 and quoted
Greber after they knew that he was the Devil! This is why I have a problem when
someone comes to my door and say that they have the truth! There is nothing
truthful about the above quotes from the WT. If that's the truth, does Jehovah
approve of spiritualism?

Questions from Readers
• Who are the writers of the publications of the Watch Tower Society, and what
are their educational qualifications?-M.D., U.S.A.
[…]
The literature published by the Watch Tower Society is published in the name of
the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. Regardless of who may write certain
articles, they are checked carefully by members of the governing body before
they are published; so they are properly viewed as coming from the Society.
***
So the governing body of the WT approves of this material that's in the WT
publications and did they go to heaven for practicing spiritualism? And does
Jehovah approve of spiritualism?
Their educational qualifications = the spirit world.

Seems the early history of your organization didn't believe so. Surely the "Faithfule
and discreet slave" couldn't be wrong on something of this magnitude even if the
"light gets brighter". To teach that would be blasphemy!!!
Will Everyone be resurrected?
According to the scriptures,
yes!
Jesus said so:
John 5:28-29
28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs
will hear his voice
29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those
who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
Paul said so:
Act 24:14-15
14 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a
sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the
Law and written in the Prophets,
15 having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a
resurrection of both the just and the unjust.
So why does the WT teach that only some will be resurrected?
Who are the true 144,000?
According to Matthew 19:28 who are the twelve
tribes the diciples will Judge?
Here is a hint. In Revelation 6, we learn the sixth seal is opened. So why
is it that Revelation 7 says that the 12 tribes mentioned are only sealed
after the sixth seal is opened? How could Paul and the others be part of
that group since they like the other Christians were already sealed?
For your reference, please note from the NWT:
Rev 7:1-4
1 After this I saw four angels standing upon the four corners of the earth,
holding tight the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow upon the
earth or upon the sea or upon any tree.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the sunrising, having a seal of
[the] living God; and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom
it was granted to harm the earth and the sea,
3 saying: “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until after we
have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads.”
4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four
thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:
WT logic is flawed. First, as noted
in Revelation, the 144,000 will all be Jews, will all be men, and will all be
virgins. Your "anointed class" the WT says make up what they say are the 144,000
fail in one or all 3 of these requirements.
Next, if WT theology is correct, that means all 6 seals have been opened, and
would have done so after Christ's death and resurrection. In fact the WT teaches
this happened in 33AD. It is quite obvious, given what happens when each of
those seals is opened, that those things have not come to pass. So, the 144,000
can not be living today nor have been seals already.
A plain reading of scripture shows that when they are sealed, they are all
together at one time right after the seal is opened. In 1st Corinthians, we are
told that all Christians are sealed by the Holy Spirit, but the 144,000 are
sealed by an angel of God.
WT theology does not add up!
