The Plan of Salvation

   If you have made it to this article of my web page, I hope that you will take time to look at the other articles to know the differences in "other" Jesus Christ's that world religions promote such as Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Islam, etc. The entire point of my entire site is to introduce you to the One True Jesus. In knowing WHO He is, you can then understand what it is He can do for you....and ONLY He can do for you. Whether you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, or profess to be a Christian, what I am about to tell you is extremely important to where you will spend eternity. Before you let some preacher tell you to wait until a song is played, walk down an aisle, say a little prayer, and get dunked in water then tell you are this....your eternal destiny depends on you understanding what Christ's message truly is....and the Gospel message is NOT some little prayer or order of doing things. You have to understand, in order to be saved, you must change.

   You can read on my site and others, the path Protestants took to separate themselves from the Catholic church. among other things, one reason is that the Catholic church teaches ritualistic ways to be saved...many that are Pagan in nature. When I look at churches today, that call themselves Protestant in the form of Baptist, Methodist, etc., I see the same thing...just not with a Eucharist cookie and so forth. Back in the 1950's, evangelists eager to show quick numbers and speed up the "salvation process" came up with a sinner's prayer. In fact, up until the early 1900's, a ritualistic prayer was never taught. After services, evangelists used to have what was known as inquiry rooms. These rooms were set up so that people could come and ask questions, and Christians could help them understand what the Gospel really was. People walked away knowing Salvation was not just some prayer. Preachers actually spent more than 2 or 3 minutes with you to make sure that you knew WHY you needed Jesus, who Jesus is, and what it meant to repent, confess, and accept. Many of today's preachers have fooled not only themselves, but the people they have dealt with into thinking they can simply just spout off a little prayer and be saved. They don't ask questions or find out what someone knows as to how worthless they really are without Jesus. No, the pot-roast is on at home, it is getting close to 12:15, and the music has stopped playing so they need to go. Countless people will meet Jesus face to face, only to find out He does not know them and they will be forever lost. Countless people will burn in Hell for eternity because of a sinner's prayer and lack of repentance and a changed life.

   What I am saying may anger many who said that little prayer and went on living their lives however they wanted to. It's not the feel-good "once saved, always saved" fluff you hear from people that got you to chant a little prayer and told you that you were now saved. Many times, these people are telling YOU what to say! That is WORTHLESS!!!!!!! God knows your heart, God knows your mind. To have someone tell you what to say to God especially on an issue as great as your eternal soul, is no different than confessing your sins to a Catholic priest and getting him to tell you that you are forgiven. It just doesn't happen. If someone has to tell you what to say in order to be saved, you have no clue why you need to be saved, how to be saved, or what is supposed to happen to you. If someone can let you walk down an aisle and say a prayer, yet not know anything about you nor inquire to make sure you understand...then tells that person they are saved...they are a liar! They don't know if you are saved. God provides salvation. God knows your heart and mind. Understand WHY you need Jesus, repent of your sins, change your life and turn away from those sins, and start following Jesus......and until you do my friend, you are in grave danger!!

   So why do you need Jesus?

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one Romans 3:10

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1st Corinthians 6:9-10


For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus Romans 3:23-24

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment Hebrews 9:27

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:11-15

   You are not righteous, you are a sinner. God is Holy and demands righteousness in His presence. Have you ever lied, even if it was a small lie? That makes you a liar. Have you ever taken something that didn't belong to you, even if it was just a stick of gum or a pen from work? That makes you a thief. Have you ever had sex outside of marriage? That makes you a fornicator. Have you ever committed adultery (keep in mind, Jesus said it is not just the act, if you look at someone with lust you commit adultery. That's His words, not mine.) That makes you an adulterer. Read the verses are nothing without Jesus, there is an eternal punishment awaiting you for your rebellion. Jesus is the only way to bridge that gap, nothing else you can do will save you. That's why you need Jesus. Sure, you can live your life, do what you want, party and have a good time if that is what you choose. You might live to be 100 years old.....and that's not even a drop in a bucket compared to forever, the forever you face afterwards, and none of your friends, family, or anything else can help you, only Jesus can.

   What did God do? The Bible tells us plainly.....

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

   God cared enough about you, me, and the rest of this filthy world that He provided a way to be with Him forever. God became a man in the form of Jesus Christ and through His blood, since only His could be pure enough to provide a way, died upon a cross, defeated death after 3 days by rising again, and became the final sacrifice for all. We are told many times, as in the last verse above, to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart. That is true, but many have taken that and used the sinner's prayer more like a club card. You can ask countless people if they are Christian, and if they ever said that sinner's prayer once, no matter what they did with their life afterwards, they will say yes. Here is a fact, you won't find the sinner's prayer ANYWHERE in the Bible nor the doctrine of it. The Bible is the final authority and is our road map, and there is harmony in Scripture. Let me ask you, if you joined the Boy Scouts, got your uniform, and never went to a meeting, participated, or did what you were supposed to, would you be a Boy Scout? No. Being one of God's children is no different. So we must ask...what is it that I must do as a Christian?

   The first step is understanding WHY you need Jesus, which I hope you gathered from above. This understanding should include who the real Jesus is (not a created being, not the brother of Satan) as He is God in the flesh. If you need understanding on this, please look to my articles on the Trinity. You should also understand there is no re-incarnation, no second chance, only this life and then judgment and that Jesus is your only hope. You also need to understand the magnitude of what He did by laying down His life for you and shedding His blood and that there is nothing that you can do yourself to ever bridge the gap between yourself and God to make you righteous. Only Jesus can redeem you. You should also understand that no matter how good you think you are, or have been, you are still a worthless sinner that deserves death and can never be righteous. We all are.

   If the next question in your mind is not something along the lines of, "What must I do?", then stop here. The rest is pointless. If you don't care, or don't understand what you are going to do and why, you will be just going through the motions. If you see where you are heading, know you are a sinner, and want to change, then you are on the right path.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19

   The above are just two of many verses that tell us to repent. What is repentance? To understand what sin is...rebellion against God, and to be truly sorry for it. None of this lip service stuff you did on the playground as a kid when the teacher made you apologize for throwing sand. No, truly being sorry is meaning it...but also, you also have to be willing to turn from your sin. Does this mean that you won't ever sin again? No, you are human; however, when you become born-again, the Holy Spirit lives within you and convicts you when you do wrong. You no longer wink at sin. There is no more "little white lies", no more "fudging", etc. You may find yourself in those situations, but you will quickly repent of them and try to never do them again. That's the difference. Many take on the Catholic "indulgence" method and think they have a free ticket to go do whatever they want as long as they ask God to forgive them later on. Here is something for you. If you go out and continually commit the same sin without trying to change, or go out and sin with the premeditated thought of asking forgiveness later....don't bother asking. You don't mean a thing you'll say. When you repent, you are sorry. When you repent, you do what you can with the Lord's help to change.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1-2

   The above verse point to your next step...conversion. When someone truly understands who Jesus is, where they stand without Him, and repents, then they allow Jesus Christ to change them into a new creation, the old self passes away. Confessing Him as you Lord and Saviour and asking for forgiveness is the first step in it, and then the conversion. One who is converted is easily recognizable by the rest of the world. Their life becomes a testimony for Jesus Christ in the things they do, what they say, the places they go, and their dependence and love for the Lord. It's not all roses and money from here out though, and if that's what you came for, you lied your way through the first step I talked about. Jesus told us not to store up riches on Earth, but rather in Heaven. We are also told that we will actually suffer for being His followers. People will mock you because you are different. Satan will try to use peer pressure to get you to be like the rest of the world. People who called you friend will want nothing to do with you anymore. Why? Because Satan is the prince of this world. If you follow Jesus Christ's commands though, your reward will be great in Heaven. Before I make this next point, on what a converted person looks like and what a TRUE Christian does, understand this verse.....

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

   As I said before, there is nothing you can do to save yourself. Good works do not save you. Church membership does not save you. Baptism does not save you. Being viewed as a good person by others does not save you. Only faith in Jesus Christ as your only hope can save you. Many worldly religions teach that it is Jesus PLUS good works that save you, but the Bible, as the final authority, teaches differently. God's Word tells us that our faith, that faith outlined in the verse above, will be proven to be true by the things that we do....our conversion. It is a natural occurrence, there is no laundry list of things we have to go do. What we do with our lives will be proof of that faith. In other words, if you said your sinner's prayer and then went out and lived your life as an adulterer afterwards, you did nothing but give lip service. Many worldly religions will tell you that James 2:14, which says that faith without works is dead, proves that your works save you. I am not going to print the whole chapter here, but if you will read the entire chapter instead of just the one verse, you will see, James says the same thing Paul did in Ephesians. True faith is a working faith. Understand that just as the thief on the cross did not have time to do good works, many have died confessing Jesus and been unable to do good works. This is another proof works don't save you; however, those that confess Jesus as Lord, yet live on with their life and do nothing, have a dead faith. Lets look at another scripture shall we?

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Matthew 7:13-20

   This is Jesus speaking. He plainly tells us we should be bearing fruit, not sitting idly by, Many people sit on a church pew their entire lives and do nothing, absolutely nothing for the Lord. Show up and punch their Christianity time clock on Sunday and Wednesday, then go home. We are commanded to preach the Gospel to all nations. Christ commissioned every child of God to do this, it was not an option, and if you are not doing it, you are not following His commands. Are you bearing fruit, or are you dead wood? What are you going to do with the life you turned over to Jesus? Are you going to give up and sit back when the going gets rough? Thank God Paul nor any of the Disciples did! You have no excuse though people make a lot of them for you. Can you serve the Lord by cleaning a church? Yes. Can you serve the Lord by offerings? Yes. Can you serve the Lord by cooking food for gatherings? Yes. Does this, or your age, or anything else excuse you from preaching the Gospel? NO!!!!! It is not just a preachers job.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20

   Now look closely at the next three verses in Matthew chapter 7 as Jesus speaks:

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23

   The choice is now yours, and you have a right to do whatever you want, but regardless, you are still going to have to answer to Jesus Christ in the end. Salvation is a free gift and there is nothing you can do to earn it. you have to understand what proof of that salvation looks like though. You have to understand why you need it, and you have to want it! Nobody can tell you that you are saved, you will know it. Nobody can tell you what to is between you and God. Is the sinners prayer a good model prayer? Yes, it is even in the tracts I pass out. Can the sinners prayer save you? No. And don't let anyone quick to get another notch on their belt tell you differently.

   Your life is now a testimony for Jesus Christ. Will that dirty joke please Him? Will that drunken stupor at the bar please Him? What about that song on the radio that fills your head with thoughts of sex, divorce, drinking, and more? Yeah, I know, it's just a little part of the song....and that is exactly what Satan wants you to think as he breaks you down. Will that racial slur please Him? Will that movie about magic and witchcraft please Him? Will the anger or hatred you have please Him? Will that piece of crack cocaine please Him? Here is something to put on the end of those questions. If He were standing in front of you, would you do it? Well, maybe you didn't get the part where God is omnipotent, is everywhere, knows everything, whether you think you got away with it or not. If you love Jesus, follow His commands.
